Global Sustainability and Urban Planning student Maya Koehn-Wu (GSVS ’24) has been awarded the 2024 Richard Heath Dabney Award by the University of Virginia Alumni Association Richmond Chapter. The award recognizes an outstanding graduating undergraduate student from the Richmond metropolitan area, who embodies personal integrity, scholarship, leadership, citizenship, and service to the University. Maya dedicates her time on grounds working for Cville Tulips and increasing community resilience for Afghan women and children refugees, working to enact higher education sustainable food policy with the Sustainable Food Collaborative, and spearheads her own nonprofit project with her younger sister in an initiative called Sisters Project Peru, dedicated to increasing healthcare access in rural Peru.
