Schaeffer Somers is an assistant professor of Architecture and Public Health at the University of Virginia. Schaeffer's teaching and research focuses on systems thinking to understanding the relationships between health and the built environment and how design and policy impacts social and environmental determinants of health. This semester, he is teaching PHS 3620 – Built Environment & Health Impact and PHS 5621 – Health Impact Assessment.
