Associate Prof. David Edmunds centers questions of social justice in all his courses - integrating BIPOC thinkers as key sources and includes materials by and about those marginalized and oppressed by social class, race, gender, sexuality, disability, citizenship status and more. He innovatively opens the classroom for non-academic guests to share their insights and experiences, and to take students into community settings to learn in situ. David is committed to co-design and co-authored research that includes community partners from the generation of project ideas to the sharing of findings and their translation into development of community-led projects and programs. His approach is meant as a step towards the transformation of what we think of as research.
